So This Is Christmas is a five-short story collection of based around the Christmas season. Inspired by family and friends who have served in the United States military in various wars, I borrowed a line from the 1969 song, Happy Xmas, War is over to send this out. The only non-veteran tale is a short piece of a coming of age story that adds a bit of comic relief.
As you may have guessed, these are not light-hearted Christmas stories. This is a look at life that just happens to occur during Christmas in West Virginia.

When I started this collection I wasn't sure what to expect.I was anticipating raw war stories. Instead, I found stories about men who had been changed by war. But more than that, the stories were about boys maturing into men and handling life the best they knew how.
The story I liked best was titled, Christmas Out, about a young woman who finds her veteran father after believing him dead all her growing up years. Lovely way to end this collection.
These stories are well worth reading. Memorable characters, fine-tuned stories, and beautiful mountain settings.

McNemar knows how to tell a story and show how the clock was made. His characters are people you have meet somewhere and they face their struggles with what they have in their personal arsonal. I would read more McNemar stories.

T.W. McNemar makes this story come to life. He has a writing style that makes the characters believable. He hits home with me.
Evokes the setting of Appalachia excellently. Made me homesick for the hills. Love the twists in his stories, You don't see them coming.
Great writing. I couldnt put it down. Laughed until I cried at times. Very touching at times swept me along on the journey
This seasonal book consists of two short stories set in Appalachia. Written with a level of poignancy you can only know if you hail from such mountains, T. W. McNemar has a fine way with words, weaving them into worthy tales. McNemar is a relatively new author; only one other book can be found with his name but I'll be looking for anything he publishes in the future.
