This is my favorite werewolf series. The stories are great, the writing is great, and the characters are great. I haven't loved every book in this series, but this is a good one.

One of the best things about this series, and this book, is the clever dialog. I'm not generally a fan of the jealous ex, but Suzanne Wright can write a put down like no one ever so I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't one in Lure of Oblivion.

This is Zander's book. He first appeared in the third book (Shaya's book) and helped Shaya's mate, Nick, fight against anti-shifter extremists. Zander has to go to the reading of a will so he stays at Gwen's B & B. At the reading Zander inherits everything while his twin brother gets $1. Gwen helped a loner shifter from getting beaten to death and the boys who did it and their families are terrorizing her to get her to change her statement to the shifter council. The sheriff is in the pocket of the kid's family and is trying to obstruct justice so the shifter council stepped in. Zander decides to stay until the shifter council meets and protect Gwen.

Zander is similar to Ms. Wright's other alpha male characters, but I liked him and his alphaness wasn't annoying. Gwen is great. She sticks up for herself and her dialog is often funny. Gwen is one of the best female characters I have read in a while.

I have never been disappointed in a Suzanne Wright book. That said, this one I did not fall immediately in love with like I do all her other books. Please keep in mind this book still received a 4 star rating from me, because it was a great read, there was just something missing. Maybe it was because her heroine was a human in the shifter world. I don't know. It is still a great read.

Gwen, while human, is a strong female lead. Zander is a quiet, broody male shifter. They are attracted to each other and the story takes off from there. The story-line is good, the suspense is good, the secondary characters are great. I guess I just really did not get Zander, but, still enjoyed the story. I will absolutely continue to read Ms Wright's books, they always have delivered a great story for me.
The Mercury Pack is back in a fast paced thrilling romance that kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Gwen and Zander are two wonderful characters that reached out and stole my heart with their vulnerable but fierce personalities. They both had tough exteriors that hid their tormented past and readers can certainly understand their views on life and empathize with the way they protected themselves. Gwen may be a human heroine but she has a loyal strong heart and attitude and she fits right in with both the Mercury Pack and the Phoenix Pack.

These characters easily captivate readers and ensure that they have to know the whole story, while the suspense builds throughout the story with lots of thrilling action and danger. The bad guys may be a bit typical with their hatred of anything or anyone different but they grab reader’s attention and hold tight because the reader wants to know what they will do next.

I look forward to each and every visit to either the Mercury or Phoenix Packs, because Suzanne Wright brings the characters and the world to brilliant life with well written words that ensure I get caught up in what’s happening and fall in love with the characters and my visit to packs was just as exciting this time as ever and I can’t wait to visit them again unfortunately it looks like I will be waiting impatiently until summer 2018 for my next visit, but I am sure I will quite satisfied with that visit as well.
Different than the other books in a good way. I love the rest of this series, but love that the conflict between H/h wasn't just misunderstanding, and then weren't too angsty. It's the little details that make me want to read a book again, and this book is full of subtle nuances, mainly used to display personality and character growth. Basically, we finally have a romance with quirky characters that are described by show not tell. Great addition to the series, and thrilled there.wasn't more of the archetypal bitter old womam role seen by Greta and, to a lesser extent, Kathy. That got really repetitive in the other books, so very relieved it wasn't used again. Anyway, this book is a great example of why Suzanne Wright is a safe author to have on autobuy
